For my final multimedia project, I interviewed Rob and Jeff from the radio here on campus. My angle is how the radio and other medias give students the chance to get experience.

Journalism program at Eastern Illinois University gives students opportunities to work with different types of media. The Daily Eastern News (DEN), The Warbler and WEIU TV and radio.

Jeff Owens and Rob Calhoun are in charge of the radio station here called Hit-Mix 88.9 WEIU.

According to Calhoun you start as a DJ at Hit-Mix and other opportunities include  promotions, production, sales, news and sports.

“We’re a great learning experience for the students of Eastern Illinois University,” Owens said.
