Books that show children compassion

I recently found this article:

http://www.readbrightly.com/books-that-help-kids-walk-in-someone-elses-shoes/

that lists books children can read when they want to learn about people’s lives who are different than their own. The books range from different cultures, to people learning to live with disabilities and more.

I wanted to highlight this in my blog because I think it shows the power books can have when teaching children about lives different than their own. Many people hold many books they read as children in high esteem, and think about them for years afterward. Reading a diverse set of books about a diverse set of people can do wonders for children who might not get that experience in real life.
