In this post, I will explain the beauty products that have done the best job working as a primer under my foundation.
First, my OG, is by Benefit Cosmetics- their POREfessional face primer. It retails for $31. This product quickly minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines and help makeup stay put with this priming phenomenon. The silky and lightweight formula can be worn under makeup to create a smoother-than-smooth canvas or used throughout the day to mattify shine and touch up problem areas. It’s so translucent, no one will know you’re wearing anything. It has worked wonders on my pores.
Secondly, I have found the BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming product is worth the cost, it retails for $36. Go beyond extending makeup wear to address the root cause of why your makeup moves. This formula specifically targets oil-prone areas and acts as liquid blotting paper to leave your skin fresh and matte all day. Use alone, before, or after foundation to control excess oil, while minimizing the appearance of pores.
One that I’ve found isn’t worth all the hype is by Smashbox – Photo Finish Oil Free Foundation Primer Pore Minimizing product, it retails for $39. This primer claims to dramatically blur and reduce the look of pores, while it mattifies shine and controls oil. I don’t notice a difference in my foundation with or without this on. Deffinitely not worth the money.
Ones I would like to purchase and try are the Cover FX Mattifying Primer and Murad’s Invisiblur Perfecting Shield
