Now I mentioned a thing called an EF0 tornado in my last post. I’m sure some of you just think I’m slapping letters and numbers together, but I assure you, there’s a method to the madness. This time we’re going to talk a little bit about how we classify tornadoes.
I’m sure you all have heard of the Fujita scale, and no I’m not talking about Mexican food. I’m talking about the man who created our system for classifying tornadoes. Now if you haven’t that’s fine! The NWS has a lot of great information about how tornadoes are classified and the different scales. It starts at EF0 and works it’s way up to EF5! Of course, there’s always the possibility that we may have to add even more numbers on in the future!
