Last week I did a interview with Chelsea Ray, a junior communications major. My questions to Ray stemmed from her experience with being an African-American woman at a predominately white school. My questions were centered around that topic and she expressed that it is different living in a small town versus a big city. She shared that she has had to basically get used to the fact that she will always be seen as black before she is anything else. I learned that people are actually pretty open when it comes to telling their story, the reporter just needs to know what angles to use and what questions to ask. I learned that people are willing to reveal their experiences. I also hope to learn how to make the video look better than what it does.
