Adopt a Multimedia Journalist

This is a good example of multimedia journalism because this photo was also used for an article and I think the strength of this to go with the article works out perfectly. There are some more photos of him leading his men and women but I feel like this one showed his power and leadership the most.

This was a video about people dying by getting hit by trains. I feel that it was a strong message because it really surprises you how many people will die by getting hit by a train. This part of the video was the strongest because it shows the train and the caution tape because something obviously was just hit.

This is a great piece by him because everyone, almost everyone, that lives in America loves the country . This is very patriotic and it is an emotional photo. A video also goes along with this is a memorial site for the victims of 9/11 and 266 volunteers helped stake 2996 flags in the ground to remember those lost on 9/11. Its a pretty awesome picture and video.

This photo also works pretty good because it shows how pissed off he is that the is struggling to get a hit. The picture basically sums up the day for the Cards.

Everyone loves Santa even if you’re older. But for a Kid to see Santa come down a chimney at the Hard Rock Cafe in St. Louis, how awesome would that be. Kids stay up all night hoping to see Santa dropping off their presents, and are always unsuccessful. This time they are successful.

How awesome would it be to see Santa cruising down the highway on a motorcycle. This Santa Claus is on his way to drop off a present for a 3 year old boy. He said he loves seeing people’s expressions as he drives by. I know I would love to see it.

This was a time lapse video of two St. Louis Rams football players’ photo shoot. This one works because it is cool to see all the work that goes into making a photo shoot for two professional athletes. You wouldn’t think it would take that long, but this video shows all the preparation needed.

There was a man murdered and he liked to drive muscle cars and so did all of his friends. So in his honor his friends did burnouts at the spot where he was murdered. This video is pretty sweet. It was a great honor and a great video.

This video is actually pretty funny because you think they would actual give advice? Nope, they are making fun of the Cubs fans saying to root for a different team, but the thing is this was made back in 2010 and the Cubs just knocked the Cards out of the playoffs this year, so who is laughing now? Video worked for comedic purposes.

This video worked because it seems like it was a fun haunted house show. Halloween is a cool time of the year and people get excited for it. This did a good job of showing people’s excitement.

The Cardinals just won the World Series and the photo David took did a great job of catching the emotion of them. If people look at this you already know what had happened.

All of David Carson’s photos, videos, and time lapses that he made all did a great job of getting messages across and catching good emotion. All of the material told a great story and were very intriguing. A lot of the stuff that he caught were very different. Like the one of the kid who skateboards and is only two years old. How did he even find that? When I look for a video or an article to read, if I am not caught on right at the beginning, I am not going to continue to watch the video or read the story. All of David Carson’s material kept me reading and watching. I think that was one thing that he did really well, he was able to find things that other people could not find and that is what made it really cool. He was also able to catch some really emotional shots too. Like the one of the 9/11 memorial, that really hit me and it was such a cool video he shot and it was nice to see so many people out there helping. It was a really nice honor for those who lost their lives to the senseless terrorism that occurred. When stuff like that happens it will never be forgotten and it was nice to see that he went and covered that event that has been going on for a few years now. Santa is a favorite for everyone, from seeing him in movies or the Santas walking around the streets in Chicago, or in this case, St. Louis. Everyone has Christmas spirit and if you say that you don’t, you are a liar. The photo he got of Santa going down “the chimney” was pretty cool. I would have loved to seen the kids reactions, that is maybe something that he should have done and could have worked out pretty well. But the one he chose got the job done. Also seeing Santa on a motorcycle was pretty cool too. It made Santa look like a badass, as if flying around wasn’t cool enough. But you can also see the bear on the back of the motorcycle that he was going to deliver to the kid. It is something that guy does from time to time and for Carson to find that out was great and made it a great multimedia story. David Carson is a great multimeida journalist and is able to capture the perfect photos and videos. Him also making the time lapses is pretty cool too because sometimes the video is just going to be very long. Him being able to do so many different things makes him the great journalist that he is. I plan on keeping up with some of the work that he does in the future. I was really interested in everything that he does.
