Introductory post and the Wisconsin Badgers

My name is Chris Picazo.  I am a senior journalism major at Eastern Illinois University, and I will be running a blog this semester for my Introduction to Multimedia Journliamsm class.

My topic this semester will about the college football team the Wisconsin Badgers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  The Badgers will kickoff their 2015-2016 season at 7 p.m. Saturday September 5 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas against the Crimson Tide of the University of Alabama.  The Badgers have typically been good with season openers, losing only once since 1997.  The 28-24 loss came last year against the Tigers of Louisiana State University.  This year, the Badgers have a much tougher opponent in Alabama than in previous years.  The Badgers are currently ranked No. 20 on the AP Top 25 Poll, while Alabama is ranked 17 spots higher coming in at No 3.  Wisconsin is coming off a New Year’s Day 34-31 overtime win against Auburn in the Outback Bowl.  Alabama was one of four teams in the 2014-2015 season to be a part of the introductory college football playoffs.  They played in the Sugar Bowl semi-final against the Buckeyes of Ohio State losing to the eventual national champions 42-35. With a win against Alabama, the Badgers can make a statement going into the rest of the season, as Alabama is the Badgers toughest opponent this season.  The Badgers are currently the underdogs at 10 points under in predictions making it the first time they have been in double digits in three years.  A win can give the Badgers an excellent image at their football program and make them possible contenders for this season’s college football playoffs.  Follow the Badgers this season and look for any upcoming games on their schedule.
